Finland Understands Family Values

Pink News reported Friday that the Finnish Parliament voted in a 108-29 vote to allow same-sex couples who have entered into registered partnerships may now adopt their partner’s biological children.

This new law provides for children of non-biological parents to receive such benefits as alimony and inheritance rights that until now, were denied them.

The new law also provides visitation rights for non-biological parents should couples separate.

Finland has been legally registering same sex partners since 2002
