This incendiary reporting of a non-news story was not limited to only KBCI. The same arrest took on an entirely different scope and scale from the NBC affiliate, KTBV Channel 7. Channel 7’s exploited the incident with inflammatory coverage that started with Olin then launched into unrelated issues seemingly aimed at promoting misinformation and loathing of gay men.

KTVB-Channel 7 (Boise NBC affiliate) let its conservative roots show tonight in the coverage given to the teen pregnancy controversy hovering around Republican vice presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. The 6 pm broadcast featured a story by reporter Ysabel Bilbao who teased earlier that she spoke to people “on both sides of the isle,” indicating she had a balanced story. Well, guess what? It was clearly tilted to the right and not centered or balanced.
